The Progression of Humanity

I've decided to post on this blog whenever a great thought strikes in my head or I just wish to discuss one concept. Today that is the progression of humans. It seems that humanity has progressed so far in the last 100 years. In my opinion, we have progressed more in these last 100 years than probably in any other period of change in or history. We created cars, airplanes, television, space shuttles, computers, cell phones, and the list goes on and on. What did we accomplish since our creation almost 200,000 years ago? Just seeing the leap in technology is unfathomable. Technology  itself is so impossible to understand. I doubt any man could actually understand any part of a piece of technology that he or she owns. So, has humanity itself advanced, or the pinnacle of it. Think about it, there are tons of people in history who accomplished nothing towards the advancement of humanity. A prime example of this is government. Where did this idea come from? Where do people get the idea that they have the right to control others to "protect" others? This seems to be an ancient concept but it continues to confuse me. Why? That always seems to be the question. Why?

Well... I think I accomplished not including any content in this blog and so I will go. Hopefully, I will write more and better in the future. This blog was originally started to give me something to do when I am feeling bored and lonely with nothing else to do. So, the first line of this blog may not be true and I might be posting about anything of everything. What do you expect? I have a monkey mind.

Hmm...

For some reason, I can never remember to come back to my blog. I guess these sporadic every-three-month posts will have to do. What does it matter anyways? Is there even  anyone reading these? Oh well... My life here in Georgia is as dull as ever and I am just going with the flow, doing my homework and just thinking. I have thought a lot but I haven't had any results to my thinking other than my many questions about humanity and its oddness. Why are people so selfish? And lazy? And mean? We are an odd people, unable to live with people while constantly pushing them away. Obviously we don't understand the basics to life. But who I am I to talk, I do and am all of these things. There's another thing about humans. We love to criticize. We constantly criticize while hypocritically doing all of the things we are criticizing. See, if I was a popular blogger, I would be getting tons of hate mail just because people love to find faults with others. Well, that's all I got for now. Readers (if you exist), see whenever I remember about this blog again.

Goodbye for now.

Hello!

Hello Readers(if you exist)!

I am trying to fulfill my goal of writing on this blog more often. This will probably grow easier as I do it more and more. The biggest problem in writing a blog is trying to figure out what to write about. All I can do is just write what my monkey mind thinks. I have realized that I don't have to write so formerly such as my 1st post.

I don't know what I will write about so lets  talk about school! In lit, I am reading Shakespeare for the first time, the famous tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. So far, they haven't met and the police chief said he would kill Romeo and Juliet's fathers if their men began fighting again. It's.... interesting to say the least. It is quite boring and beyond me why somebody would read such a boring play for fun.

Topic change time!

I really want to see the movie "A Life in a Day". It is basically made up of tons of videos from Youtube that were edited together. I don't really know what it is about, but it is gotten great reviews on rottentomatoes.com, so that is reason enough to go see it. Also, I can see it for free on Youtube. For those who didn't know, you can actually watch free movies on Youtube. This is a great discovery for me and will allow me to watch (some) movies for free. How exciting!!

That is pretty much all I can think of writing about now, so.... Good Night readers(if you exist)!

What's Up?

OMG!!!

It's my first blog post in multiple months! So, in the last few months, I have started high school and gotten a dSLT camera. Not a dSLR, a dSLT. Its like a dSLR except a different design. But that doesn't really matter, it works the same with high quality pics and that all that matters. I plan on posting more on this blog and maybe some of the pics too. Look forward to that, readers (if you exist).

Also, I have started high school. Gone on to the next chapter of my life as my last post said. It is fun I guess. It's a ton of work which I barely finish, leaving me little to no time to actually have hobbies like blogging.

It's cold outside suddenly (yes i am random) and I love it! I finally got to break out my beanie and my russian hat to keep warm. They compliment my sweaters (I wear sweaters most everyday) quite nicely.

In other news, Libyan dictator Gaddafi has been killed, which means (unfortunately) Obama is almost definitely going to be reelected. It's a shame, I was quite supportive of Herman Cain, who was originally a radio talk show host here in Georgia.Oh well...

I should probably be doing something more productive right now, so.... Good Night Readers (if you exist)!

End of School

The last day of middle school came and passed. It was the last time I would come to my middle school for a while, possibly forever.

This day was dedicated to signing yearbooks and awards. For 6th and 7th grades, most of these awards were useless and arbitrary. But in 8th grade, there were real awards from not just the teachers, but from the school, county, as well as one from the president. In the 8th grade, there was a real ceremony, not just a small gathering in the students' homeroom teacher's room. All the parents were invited and the entire grade sat in the gym. They all waited in anticipation for the awards they would or would not receive.

First, the principal delivered the long and unnecessary introduction, in which she stated that she was very proud of us and that we were great students. Next, various clubs presented awards. The broadcast crew, the group that would put on the school's news each morning all received recognition. After that, the leaders of the green team, also known as the recycling club, received awards in the form of tacky, green birdhouses. This was followed by awards from my math teacher, who also happened to be the academic team coach. As a former member of the academic team, I was called to the front, where I received awards from all of the competitions I had attended or contributed to throughout the year. This included an elite math competition that  only a small group in my high school level math class qualified for. After receiving these awards, I returned to my seat. The second I sat down, I was called back to the stage for receiving a perfect score on the the end of course test that counted for 15 percent of my math grade. The ceremony went on to award a slew of other clubs for leadership, among other things. This was followed by awards for honor roll, super honor roll and the presidential award. For one to be in honor roll, he or she must have an average of a 90% or higher for the semester. For super honor roll, one must have a 95% average or higher. Then, there was the presidential award. To be qualified to receive this award, one requires an average of 90% or higher and a score in the 85th percentile on the designated standardized test. Hundreds of people received each of these awards. The ceremony continued to give more and more of these awards until it was over. Although so many awards had been given out, around 75% of the eighth grade population had received nothing. So, for most of the grade, the ceremony was a waste of time. Fortunately, I wasn't a part of the 75%.

The award ceremony finished after two hours. The grade went to eat lunch, one group at a time. Next, we were sent on a minimized schedule. We saw each of our teachers for about 15 to 20 minutes. Most teachers allowed their students to interact with each other and say goodbye. About one-fourth of the people would go to North High School. The rest would go to East High School. This meant that friends would be separated, never to see each other again. At the end of the day, I said goodbye to my teachers and friends, and walked away from middle school, to the next chapter of my life.
